PLANO - Elizabeth Englund Flewellen passed away peacefully at her home in Plano, Texas, Saturday, April 20th, 2013. A Memorial Coffee Reception will be held in her honor Sunday, May 19th, at 10:00 AM, in the Parish Hall at First Lutheran Church, 304 Oscar Street, El Campo, Texas, followed by church services at 10:45 AM. All friends and family are invited to join in this celebration of her life.
Elizabeth was born September 14, 1948 in El Campo to John Ovid and Lillie Jean Englund. She graduated from El Campo High School in 1967 and went on to become a respiratory therapist, followed by decades of breeding and training Maltese dogs, the latter becoming a noteworthy passion. She held several positions and was very active in the American Maltese Association. During her career she produced some 19 top Maltese Champions, including in 1994 Elizabeth was the breeder/co-owner of BIS, BISS CH. Fantasyland Vital Sun Isle, the Nation's #1 Maltese Dog. More recently, she was honored as the leading breeder/producer of National and World Champion Maltese Dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John O. and Lillie Jean Englund, as well as maternal grandparents, Johnny and Maple Counts of El Campo and Palacios, and paternal grandparents, John and Anna Englund of El Campo.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Eugene H. (Trey) Flewellen, III, M.D., of Plano; daughter, Lori, and husband, Thien Tran, and grandson, Brant, of Plano; brother Bill Englund and wife, Lisa, of El Campo; brother Eric Englund and wife, Alexea, of Port Lavaca/Magnolia Beach, as well as a niece, Kimberly Englund, of Houston and a nephew, Chris Englund, and wife, Danielle, of Wharton, along with numerous cousins and extended family throughout the United States and Costa Rica.

I have to say that she always treated me well.  I wish we could have found out sooner so I may have given an opportunity to show my respects to her family.  Thank you for informing us of her passing.

Elizabet and her older sister Charlotte livied across the street from ny dad's grocery store. Elizabeth and I were frineds from grade school thry high school. She was a good friend and we even went to the picture show and had dinner a few times together.  I have nothing but good memories of Elizabeth.  We even talked a few times on facebook,but she never said anything about being ill, but that was her way, she never compalined about anything.  Farewell Elizabeth untill we meet againg, I will never forget her.
